Week 9: Letter

Dear AP Psych student,
        AP Psych is a fun class. You can learn many fascinating things about brain and human psychology. It is really interesting to learn about different aspects about our behaviors and how things work in our life. My advice to you is do the vocab in a timely manner. Because the AP exam is all about knowing the words and applying the vocabulary. The activity I liked the most was goose chase. It allowed us to connect the vocabulary to the outside world. Quizlet live was also fun to play.
        I think it would be good if we get the content digs back in order to study for the exam. Otherwise, we are rushing to get it done and not actually studying. Also, it would be good if there is more time to do the content dig.
         So guys, good luck for next year. You will love this class!!

Week 7: The anything blog

Hi friends,
     Today I am going to talk about an important and inevitable part of our life- sleep. This is something most of the students in high school lack. There are many health problems associated with sleep. Sleep disorders affect a lot of people  — up to 20 percent of Americans in any given year suffer from a sleep problem, according to the National Institutes of Health. Many people who suffer from problems sleeping don’t even realize it. They may walk through the day feeling a little tired, unfocused, and unable to get started. These disorders and the resulting sleep deprivation interfere with work, driving, and social activities. The most common sleep disorders include insomnia, sleep apnea, daytime sleepiness, restless legs syndrome, and narcolepsy.

Sleep is necessary for our nervous systems to work properly. Too little sleep leaves us drowsy and unable to concentrate the next day. It also leads to impaired memory and physical performance and reduced ability to carry out math calculations. If sleep deprivation continues, hallucinations and mood swings may develop. To perform well in academics and other activities, everyone needs enough sleep. The amount of sleep each person needs depends on many factors, including age. Infants generally require about 16 hours a day, while teenagers need about 9 hours on average. For most adults, 7 to 8 hours a night appears to be the best amount of sleep, although some people may need as few as 5 hours or as many as 10 hours of sleep each day.  

      So friends, get enough sleep and be healthy.

Week 6: Personality Tests

Hi friends,
     Today I am going to do some personality tests and see what my thoughts and actions reveal about me. Let's start! 

• First I am going to do the Jung Typology Test. This test asks about how I would respond or what choice I would take in specific situations. The results turn out to be that I'm an ESFP. This test is somewhat accurate and I cannot completely deny the results. I think that I am good at perceiving than judging. Also, I always express my emotions and have sympathy for the less fortunate people.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           ESFP

• You have slight preference of Extraversion over Introversion (16%)

• Next, I took the Attraction test. It showed the pictures of 50 men and asked to rate e how attractive they are on a scale from 1 to 10. Then it gave a summary of what qualities I like in men. It said that I prefer men that are intelligent, cheerful, modest and trendy. The results were pretty accurate because I like intelligent and happy people. But I think we cannot understand our preferences only by just rating 50 men.

• Next, I took the emotional IQ test. It also asked some questions like how would I react to certain emotions and asked to rate these responses and how would I respond from 1-5. The results said that my emotional IQ is in the average range. I am able to recognize and deal with my own emotions and those of the others in a reasonably effective manner. I think that an analysis from a test with certain questions determines the IQ of a person. These tests are just there to give an idea of what our personality may be like.
• Then I took the Happiness Test. The results said I am the type of person who believes in the goodness of humankind. And I give nearly everyone the benefit of doubt and will often accept what people say and do at face value. The results shocked me because it was pretty accurate. I trust people so quickly and always believe what people say. This was a good test.
• The next one is Extroversion Introversion Test. It mostly asked about how and with whom I spend time and what I do with them etc. The test I am slightly an extrovert and like to socialize with both small and large groups. Also, it said I 've managed to strike a great balance between actively involving myself in my social network and spending some quality time with a few intimate friends.  I think this test was not that bad. It showed me some aspects of my personality that I never noticed

Week 5: Senses

Hello friends,
   Welcome back to my blog!! This week I am going to share some facts about the sense-taste. This information is taken from the article How does our sense of taste work? 

Taste is linked to other sensations. It is not only the qualities of taste perceived by the tongue but also the smell, texture, and temperature of a meal that is important. We cannot enjoy a delicious meal if our nose clogged or can't smell properly! There are thought to be at least five basic qualities of taste. Many dishes are made up of a combination of different tastes. The basic tastes are sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and savory. Hot and spicy are often considered as taste, but they are not. However, it is caused by a pain signal sent by the nerves that transmit touch and temperature sensations. All taste can be perceived equally well everywhere on the tongue. The back of our tongue is very sensitive to bitter tastes. This is apparently to protect us so that we can spit out poisonous or spoiled foods or substances before they enter the throat and are swallowed. So taste is an important sense. If this sense is not functioning, we cannot enjoy our meals or get an interest to eat food. Because every food will feel like the same.

Week 4: My Life Story

Hello friends,
     This week I am going to share my life story and my development as a human being.
I was born on September 27, 2001, Thursday night in India. I am the third child of my parents. I was very chubby so people always pinched my cheeks. My sister and I are 9 years apart. So she was really a mother to me. I went to pre- k when I was 4 and my first grade when I was six. I attended a school near my home. I was very excited to go to school and had many friends. I studied pre-k to 8th grade in the same school with my best friends. I talked a lot. So everybody in my class was my friends.

After finishing 8th grade, my family moved to the United States. It was very hard for me to move to a new place. I cried a lot. I missed my friends and cousins. Then I became a part of the Dulles Vikings. I will graduate on May 23rd, 2019. Class of 2019!! Yeah!! I will attend Texas A&M for engineering and graduate in 2023. I will find a job with a good salary. Maybe I will plan to get married at the age of 27/28 with a god-fearing and a nice gentleman. Kids? Maybe 2 or 3. Hopefully, will retire at 65 and have a restful life afterward. Maybe I think I will live till 80-85? Who knows. This is what I think about my life.

Week 3: BioHeroes

Hello guys, 

       Today I am going to introduce you to my bio hero- Talking embracer. This young girl was so sad reading about many suicide cases, wars and stories of people suffering from depression.  She hated war and fightings. She wanted to make a change. She asked god for help. And God gave her powers. (My birthday is on September 27. So I got Temporal lobe and Serotonin) My bio hero has the power to make people understand and speak language, so they can communicate. She can help them to control their emotions. She also helps to maintain the well being and happiness of the people by reducing depression and regulating anxiety. She can stabilize the mood of people. With these power she can save the world by helping people who suffer depression, thus reducing the amount of suicides. Also, change emotions from angry to happy so there is less hatred and low crime rates. She can also make peace agreements by making people better understand what the other person is saying and also help people who struggles to learn a language. She can remove all the communication barriers. She can really make this world a better place.

And now it's time to change the world by creating a group of powerful friends. Introducing Fantastic Four: The Mighty Messenger, Queen Cobra, Iris Adrenaline, and Talking Embracer.  Let's change the world!!!
